Initially, BOAT and UCR data must be treated as unverified, at least until local members have checked and confirmed that there are no official temporary or permanent restrictions in place.
TROs and other restrictions will be shown in TW2 where these are known or have been advised to us by local authorities or reps, but users should watch for official TRO or ‘Road Closed’ signs on routes – if in doubt don’t drive it.
Local Authority definitive maps sometimes contain “legal” rights of way which are in practice impassable or may be unsafe to use. OS maps contain a disclaimer that ways shown as BOATs or UCRs are not proof of a public right of way. TW2 information is provided in good faith but is not a guarantee of legal rights of access to any particular route, nor should it be taken as proof that a route is safe.
