A position indicator button is provided to indicate your
location on the main map page.
Pressing the button will turn on the location indicator and
will also enable tracking as you move. Pressing the button again will turn it
off.
The function and/or accuracy of the position indication will vary depending on your device and may not work at all if “Location Services” are turned off on your device. A GPS-enabled device should give an accurate position on the base map if a data signal is available. You may find the location shown is that of your service provider, not yourself, when using a laptop or PC device.
We have seen instances in the past where the tracking accuracy is poor. This is often because the web browser in use doesn't have "high accuracy" enabled for location services. Please ensure this is enabled for the best experience.
When the position indicator and tracking is ‘on’ the base
map will be ‘Open Street Map’ by default, Bing OS Maps are not available when
using this service.
