Commenting Guidelines

TW2 is intended for statements of information, it is not meant for conversations or questions. It is managed this way to reduce clutter against a route.

Any specific queries or questions should be directed to the relevant Area Rep.  There will be a button or link to contact the appropriate Area Rep against each lane.  Contact details can also be found here https://www.glass-uk.org/contact-us

To reduce repetition, please only add comments where the status/condition of a lane has changed from the previous comments, or if the period since the last comment is 6 months or more.

When recording a comment, say what date you used the route, your vehicle type(s), your direction of travel, and add any information that may be useful to people in future if/when they look up the lane on TW2. Please also add any other users you are likely to encounter.

For example: 12/6/25, two 90’s & a Series IIa, NE-SW*.  Lane in poor condition; water erosion has caused a deep central gully.  Often popular with walkers in good weather.

* You might also use “A to B” or “B to A”, as displayed on the route/map itself.

In addition to the information, you can include photographs of the lane. Many TW2 users find it very useful to see the comments combined with pictures.  Something “deep” to you might be “normal” to someone else.

If not already noted in TW2, please mention…

Obstructions and Problems: These should be recorded with a Grid Reference (right click in map window) and an indication of which users could be affected. Please provide a photograph where possible.

Signs: Are there any? Are they in good condition? Are they appropriate/correct?

TRO: Any Traffic Regulation Order signage should be photographed and added to your comment.

Note: Comments, pictures and videos will be subject to moderation by Green Lane Association officials. Any content considered inappropriate or not adhering to the guidance above may be removed without notice. The moderators’ decision will be final. Persistent offenders may have their TW2 access removed. Comments and photos will be visible to all users and may be divulged to official bodies for legal purposes or as user evidence in support of Definitive Map Modification Orders. We also reserve the right to use any uploaded images in our publications and online.

Videos: Due to the time required to check that videos posted to TW2 fit within our Code of Conduct, we may decline to add links to videos.
